Melo House is the latest major solo exhibition from Bangkok-based manga artist Wisut Ponnimit. This show stars his beloved iconic character Mamuang, and is the third installment of his MELO project: a series of site specific projects that Ponnimit started in 2005. For Melo House, Ponnimit has constructed a maze (MELO means maze in Japanese) that follows Mamuang and the different choices made by her and their subsequent outcomes. Through watching the different stories and possibilities unfolds, audiences are able consider the choices made in their own lives and their consequences.

Wisut Ponnimit (b.1976, Bangkok) is a Thai manga artist and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Bangkok. Since his debut as cartoonist in 2003, he has actively produced works in various genres such as illustrations and animation. Renowned for his straightforward storytelling technique, an interest in Buddhist philosophy, and exploration of themes based on the everyday, Ponnimit has become one of the key foreign artists in Japan’s manga scene.
