After its world premiere at Kunsthall Trondheim, Songs for dying (2021) by Korakrit Arunanondchai is now on view at the 13th Gwangju Biennale – MINDS RISING, SPIRITS TUNING. A co-commissioned work by the 13th Gwangju Biennale, Kunsthall Trondheim, and the Han Nefkens Foundation, Korakrit’s latest video installation at Horanggasy Artpolygon, a community art space situated in the historic and sacred Yangnim Mountain, sentimentally excavates histories of the oppressed and the unnoticed as narrated through the metaphor of spirits in the contemporary techno-animistic world.

Korakrit Arunanondchai, Songs for dying, 2021, Single-channel video, color, sound, painting. 30:18 min, Co-commissioned by the 13th Gwangju Biennale, Kunsthall Trondheim and The Han Nefkens Foundation. 13th Gwangju Biennale – Minds Rising, Spirits Tuning
